Athena - Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

At IA Computing we offer our own Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) called Athena based on the Open Source system – Moodle. Moodle has been created and is continuously developed by people in the education sector with the specific purpose of teaching and learning.

Introduce Athena at Any Level

Athena can be integrated into your establishment at any level of education, from Primary Schools to Adult Education and online training courses. With the Moodle system being used the World over for online education it's extremely likely that your students will have encountered the system before, or will do in the future.

Completely Tailored to Match Your School Brand

We can modify Athena to match the style of your brand or school colours so that students will automatically know that the School VLE belongs to your establishment. We can also integrate hundreds of available plugins into the system, or even create new ones ourselves, so if you want anything extra, we can usually find a way to add it in to your system!

Access Athena Anywhere

The main benefit of Athena (and the majority of School VLEs) is that the system can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. All students, teachers and administrators are given a login (easily manageable if they forget their passwords!) and different levels of access can be given to groups of users or on a user by user basis.

Online Testing & Marking

With Athena, you can set up an online test or quiz for your students to take, and can instantly see how many students have taken the test and see how they have done, saving huge amounts of time in marking, enabling you and your colleagues to spend more time on other things.

Seamlessly Integrate Student Data

We can import all your students into Athena using various different methods and can even integrate it with SIMS and Active Directory, saving time by not having to set up each student in the system manually.
